Case Caption: Velazquez vs. Gov't of the VI Case Number: SCT-CIV-2025-0014Date: 08/21/2026Author: Form Field 41Cabret, Maria M. Citation: 2026 VI 16Summary: Considering an appeal from an order of the Superior Court denying a petition for a writ of habeas corpus alleging ineffective assistance of counsel with respect to the petitioner’s trial on felony charges, including attempted first-degree murder, arising out of a shooting incident, trial counsel’s conduct in not trying to prevent an out-of-court photo identification and a witness’ initial statement misidentifying the shooter from being admitted into evidence was reasonable. Additionally, the Superior Court did not err in its denial based on petitioner’s evidentiary claims because he did not make any claim or argument that the challenged evidentiary rulings amounted to constitutional violations. Accordingly, the Superior Court’s order denying the petition for habeas corpus is affirmed.Attachment:
